Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will focus more on science experiments in 2023 with missions to the Sun and the moon.

Besides, ISRO will conduct a series of experiments on India’s first human space flight - the Gaganyaan Project.

The organization plans to launch the first uncrewed mission in the last quarter of 2023 to validate the performance of the launch vehicle and recovery operations.

Furthermore, ISRO plans to execute the reusable launch vehicle's first runway landing experiment (RLV-LEX). Private sectors also marked their arrival in the aerospace business.

In November, Skyroot Aerospace launched India’s first privately developed rocket. The Indian start-up plans to launch a client satellite sometime this year.

Meanwhile, another start-up Agnikul Cosmos also lined up the test flight of its Agnibaan rocket.

Indian start-ups are eyeing a massive market in the country, such as designing cheaper fuels for satellites, providing earth imaging products, or taking tourists on a space journey.

Aerospace companies could produce innovative space applications by forming partnerships with other industries, like agriculture or pharmaceutical companies.

Director General of the Indian Space Association, Lt Gen A K Bhatt, said there are over 100 space start-ups in India. These start-ups have gained funding of more than USD 245.35 million.

Other space start-ups in India that have huge potential are DhurvaSpace, Agnikul, OneWeb, and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).
